Redemption: Sons
Drs. Tameka Cage Conley and Jason C. Méndez co-wrote the new theatrical work Redemption Sons; an interdisciplinary “call and response” duologue about a Black mother from Louisiana and a Boricua father from the South Bronx inspired by the love of their sons and the commitment to their survival in an age of hyper police brutality. Redemption: Sons was part of Season 5 of the New Hazlett Theater's Community Supported Arts (CSA) program.

ZPEAF
In collaboration with Level Up Studies (Pittsburgh, PA), Sons of the Boogie hosted the Zelda Pito Emerging Artist Fellowship (ZPEAF); a three-week summer intensive designed to provide Pittsburgh Public High School students with a post-high school preparatory learning experience focusing on interdisciplinary arts, liberation (individual freedom), and critical thinking in a student-centered environment that emphasizes community, collaboration, and creativity. This project was supported in part by a Remake Learning grant from the Sprout Fund.
